The weekend after Labor Day, Bob and I flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a well-deserved, long weekend break. We met up with one of our MountainWest Motorsports (MWM) NASCAR online racing teammates, Rob and his wife, Mary. We made no plans while we were down there other than to hang by the pool, eat, sleep and drink! The only requirement was to take time to relax.
We arrived at the Villa del Palmar Saturday afternoon to gorgeous clear skies, hot sunshine and cool drinks by, and in, the pool. The orca slide was a hoot!
Rob and Mary decided that they wanted to take in a parasailing ride. Bob and I went along as the camera crew as the two of them flew over the coastal waters of Cabo San Lucas. Later, we met up in the hotel restaurant where I was able to put some of my very rusty Spanish speaking skills to work. Looks like Bob was happy with his selection!
You can't be a rock fan and go with Cabo San Lucas without going to Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo! The four of us enjoyed a light dinner and the cover band. Oh, and our Waboritas!
Our last day-and-a-half in Cabo was uneventful thanks to tropical storm Lowell. All water activites ceased from the beach and the hotel staff spent their time battening down the hatches. I personally love the ocean during a storm, so I spent a lot of time in the rain just watching the waves roll in.
