Jimmy Buffet's Margartiaville
A few of us arrived on Wednesday evening, but the rest of the group arrived throughout the day on Thursday. We'd made arrangements to meet in the lobby of the The Orleans Hotel and Casino where we were all staying, and take their shuttle to the Las Vegas strip to go out for dinner.
Our destination was Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, located at the Flamingo. It's one of the many themed restaurants on the strip and one we hadn't gone to in previous outings. To help break the ice, we ordered one (then two) of their speciality 3-foot margaritas on tap. Turns out it wasn't necessary (but the margartias were darn good, necessary or not!), as the group met each other as long-lost friends.
Rob and Bryan talked racing while Mary and Ann contemplated menus. Doug joined in, as Deb and Paul marveled over the margarita tap. And me, Bob and Mark just tried to get a margartia passed our way!

Bellagio Fountains
After dinner, the majority of the gang headed across the way to catch a showing of the Bellagio Fountains. The gang - Pam, Doug, Rob, Bob, me, Ann, Bryan, John and Mark - stopped to pose for a picture inside the Bellagio before staking out our spots to watch the spectaular water show.

At the end of the day...and into the next morning...
As would become our nearly nightly ritual, those who wanted to continue visiting would hit the liquor store in the Orleans and head on up to our room. It was customary for us to sit and watch a slideshow of the day's photos on the laptop, kick back with the beverages of choice and just hang out. Invariably, the talk would turn to racing lines, setups and strategies. Now, being the only women attending who actually races, I have to thank the other ladies for their patience when the discussions went down that road!
