The Wight line, Wight Family Tree
It is the sole purpose of each genealogy page is to share the information I have with others. I have only included my direct lines, though I do have additional information on other branches. Some of my personal lines are rather extensive. Should you see a name that fills in a 'leaf' on your tree, please feel free to contact me.
My maternal grandmother, Dorothy Ann (nee Wight) Kendall, is the leadoff for these branches of my family tree.
The Wight family tree has three main branches - the Wight's, and the Avery's and the Whiting's lines. Both the Avery's and Whiting's belong to the Wight's by marriage into the Wight family.
The Avery's join our family tree at the Wight's 5th generation when Sarah (nee Avery) Metcalf (3rd generation Avery) married Joseph Wight.
The Whiting's join our family tree at the Wight's 7th generation by Mary Whiting's (4th generation Whiting) marriage to Thomas Wight. The family tree depicted at the bottom of the page should help clarify their relationships.
It is to be noted that all three lines - the Wight's, the Avery's and the Whiting's - were founding families of the town of Dedham, Massachusetts.
